The role of Student Leadership at MIS is to act as a bridge between the student body and school management, while promoting the core values of Respect, Integrity, and Responsibility within the school community. Student leaders also serve as role models, demonstrating responsibility, discipline, and integrity through both their actions and attitudes.
They play an important role in maintaining a positive school environment by encouraging cooperation, addressing student concerns, and working closely with Staff to enhance the overall school experience. Through their leadership, they foster unity, participation, and a strong sense of community across the school.
As a team, Student Leaders are responsible for leading Student Council meetings with all Secondary class representatives and communicating feedback to school leadership. They also play key roles in planning and running school events, as well as presenting regularly in assemblies throughout the year.
This academic year has been filled with meaningful projects and activities led by the Student Leadership team. Together, they have worked to create a positive and engaging environment for all students, while also raising awareness and supporting important causes.

Highlights from the Student Body
Student Council Meetings
Regular meetings with class representatives provided opportunities to discuss issues, share ideas, and plan improvements. These discussions ensured that student voices were heard and contributed to making school life more inclusive and enjoyable.
Women’s Day Assembly
The Student Leadership team organised a whole-school assembly dedicated to Women’s Day. The session focused on educating students about the importance of gender equality and celebrating the contributions of women. It was inspiring to see the entire school community come together to learn and reflect.
Halloween Fundraiser
The Halloween event was a great success, with students dressing up in creative costumes and contributing donations. Funds raised were directed toward philanthropic causes, demonstrating how fun activities can also have a meaningful impact. The event was well-organised and enjoyed by all.
Reflections from Student Leaders
The experience of leadership has also provided valuable personal growth opportunities for students.
The Head Girl shared:
“Being Head Girl has taught me the value of organisation and time management when carrying out a project. I’ve learned that it’s okay to delegate, and that things don’t have to be perfect for them to succeed. Most importantly, I’ve learned that with enough resilience, patience, and focus, anything can be accomplished through teamwork.”
The Head Boy reflected:
“Being Head Boy has strengthened my decision-making, as I am constantly faced with small but meaningful choices, such as resolving student issues, organising events, and representing student concerns. The role has also taught me the importance of accountability, as I am responsible not only to the student body, but also to staff and the wider school community.”lso taught me the importance of accountability, as I am responsible not only to the student body, but also to staff and the wider school community.”
