Safeguarding and Child Protection
Morogoro International School (MIS) is fully committed to the protection and well-being of our students in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Laws of the United Republic of Tanzania on the Protection of Minors.
MIS expects all members and affiliates of our school community, including employees, outsourced staff, partners, volunteers, parents, and other visitors, to act with integrity and take responsibility for keeping students safe.
Screening
MIS Staff
All applicants for positions at MIS must undergo child protection screening. This includes completing child protection training, police background checks, signing our Code of Conduct, and providing references that address child protection and safeguarding from past employers. Our Child Safeguarding Policy, along with procedures to verify the previous employment of new applicants, reflects our continuous commitment to ensuring that all members of the MIS community are informed and educated about safeguarding to protect our students.
MIS Campus
MIS expects all members and affiliates of our school community, including employees, outsourced staff, board members, volunteers, parents, and other visitors, to act with integrity and take responsibility for keeping students safe.
Behaviour Guidelines
While on campus, MIS expects all adults and visitors to adhere to the following guidelines:
– Report to the main office to sign in.
– Wear your identification badge visibly.
– Use adult restrooms.
– Act in a civil and ethical manner, in line with our school values.
Child Protection Officers
At MIS we have three designated Child Protection Officers (CPO) Peter Carlisle, Lisa Talley and Miriam Gondwe.
