Sixth Form

AS & A-Levels

In Key Stage 5, students focus on the subjects they wish to study in more depth for their A-Level exams, which give access to a wide range of international universities.

Key Stage 5

Life After School

At Morogoro International School, we encourage our Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form) students to take greater responsibility for their own learning and development, both academically and personally. We encourage independence, accountability, and teamwork to develop well-rounded growth.

This is the first stage in preparing for life after school and as such, students are expected to have a high degree of independence and self-motivation; and to contribute meaningfully towards the school community.

Independence

Curriculum, Culture & Community

At MIS through our School Curriculum, Culture and Community we aim to develop critically-thinking, independent students who are capable of thriving in their adult lives. In Key stage 5 students enjoy a more flexible timetable, further leadership opportunities and enrichment programmes, their own study areas, and a unique uniform.

Externally

Assessed

Cambridge International A-Level is a two-year course, and Cambridge International AS-Level is typically one year. Subjects are started as an AS-Level and extended to A-Level. MIS implements the following assessment route – in Year 12 students take the Cambridge International AS Level exams and complete the final Cambridge International A Level exams at the end of Year 13.

The Cambridge International A Level is reported on a grade scale from A* (highest) to E (minimum required performance). There is no A* grade for Cambridge International AS Levels, which run from grade A to E.

Welcome to Morogoro International School!

At MIS, we are proud to provide a unique, multicultural environment where students are prepared to lead impactful, globally-focussed lives post-MIS. Our academic program, spanning a wide range of subjects, is designed to challenge students and nurture their potential, helping them develop a solid foundation for future success. From rigorous application in the Sciences and Mathematics, to exploration in English Literature and contemporary issues within Humanities based subjects, our curriculum is enriched by a diverse faculty dedicated to excellence in education.

A typical day for our students might involve diving into modern literature, experimenting with Chemistry, or working on projects side-by-side with peers. In today’s interconnected world, we believe that academic discipline and empathy are essential and we are proud of the well-rounded, globally aware education our students receive at MIS.

We hope you enjoy learning about our wonderful community!
