about
Tanzania
Tanzania is one of East Africa’s most peaceful and culturally diverse nations, known for its welcoming people, rich traditions, and stunning natural landscapes. The country is home to more than 120 ethnic groups, yet it stands out for its strong sense of unity — something reinforced through the widespread use of Kiswahili, the national language that connects people across regions, tribes, and backgrounds.
Tanzania has a long history shaped by African, Arab, and later European influences, particularly along the Swahili Coast where trade, culture, and learning flourished for centuries. After gaining independence in 1961 under the leadership of Julius Nyerere, the country embarked on a nation-building journey rooted in education, peaceful coexistence, and social cohesion. Today, Tanzania is known for its stability and hospitality, making it an easy and welcoming place for new families to settle.
The nation is also celebrated for its extraordinary natural beauty — from the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, to Zanzibar’s turquoise beaches and the vast wilderness of the south. This combination of cultural richness and natural wonder makes Tanzania a rewarding place to live, work, and explore.

Join the PTA
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at Morogoro International School plays an important role in strengthening collaboration between parents, guardians, management and staff. Our objectives are threefold: to encourage good relationships between parents and the school’s management, to promote the welfare of students through social and fundraising initiatives, and to support enrichment activities that enhance the educational experience for all learners.
We bring the school community together through cooperation, creativity, and shared purpose. Whether through organizing events, improving facilities, or funding special projects, the PTA stands as a bridge between home and school life.
