MIS girls netball team played two games against Kola Hill Secondary last Friday, the 25th. It was their first game of the year and for some of the girls, the first game of netball they had ever played!

MIS arrived at the school with what seemed like the whole of Kola Hill Secondary waiting to watch the games. The first game was comprised of our Senior girls and Nasra from the Junior team. The game started with Kola Hill quickly taking a 4-2 lead. From this point, the MIS girls dug in and began to settle. They started to use their pace and skill and by half-time, they had managed to get into the lead by 1 point.

After the break, the girls attacked with confidence and the defence of Novia and Nasra repelled seemingly every attack that Kola Hill could muster up. Goal Shooter Citti got on a roll and scored a series of shots, which appeared to break any resilience the opposition had. By the final whistle MIS came out victorious 10-7, with excellent performances from everyone.

In the second game between the Junior teams, it was a much closer game. Kola Hill got off the a flying start and MIS slowly got back into it as the first half progressed. Maureen and Nya were everywhere pushing the fightback. Despite going in at halftime behind they girls kept on battling and doing everything they could to stop the opposition. At the end of the game Kola Hill managed to hold onto victory. It was a close game and the Under Year 9s did brilliantly as it was the first netball game for Princess, Nya, Jacinda, Maureen and Nasra.

Well done to the MIS girls netball teams who were fantastic in both games!
